Hello,
I am having some trouble with this work sheet problem , I am using the Pythagorean Theorum, yet I get mix answers(7.2 and 5.8)
I need some help.
Thank You

What is the legnth of the hypontenuse of the right triangle ABC? Round your answer to one decimal place.
5.8
6.2
11.0
7.2

A- which seems to be the longest side is 6, and the base is 5,

( tring to type it out dosn't seem to look great, I hope you know what I am saying)

That's a tough one, for several reasons...

1) You seem a bit confused about right triangles. It doesn't matter which leg is longer or shorter, as long as you identify the legs.

2) The problem statement is asking for the length of the hypotenuse, so it is very unlikely that it would be given in the problem statement.

3) None of the answers appears to be correct with the given information.

Can you suggest how you managed the two answers you presented?

5 squared is 25 plus 6 squared is 36. 25+36=61 the square root of 61 is the answer
