the answer choices are:
a. 675x^13 y^22
b. 675x^36 y^120
c. 15x^36 y^120
d. 15x^13 y^22
e. 15x^7 y^14

Hint:

Use

[a^m] * [a^n] = a^(m+n)

and

[a^m]^n = a^(m*n)

Now show your work and tell us exactly where you are stuck.
 
i'm stuck.
i honestly don't have a clue
to what i'm doing. period.
 
If you don't have a clue what you're doing, then WHY were you given this?

As example, if you don't know/understand that (3^4)^7 = 3^28
or 3^4 times 3^7 = 3^11, then you're sure not ready for this problem...

but i think i have an idea of what to do.

I should start by using the FOIL method I guess.
But, do I multiply or add the exponents?
 
Start this way:
(5x^2 y^5)^2
(5x^2)^2 = 25x^4
(y^5)^2 = y^10
so that now is: (25x^4)(y^10)

go do the other one similarly;
then do the multiplications.

There is no actual FOILing or solving to do here. (There is no binomial to expand, and there is no equation to solve.) :oops:

It sounds as though you are not familiar with the rules for exponents. It is unfortunate that this material was assigned before having been covered in class. :shock:

Since we cannot reasonably provide the requested lessons within this environment, please use some online lessons instead. :idea:
