PEMDAS always applies, but we can write divisions as fractions. Now, it is just adding two fractions. Can you do that?
[math](6/17)+(6/17)=\left(\frac{6}{17}\right)+\left(\frac{6}{17}\right)=?[/math]

In addition/subtraction of fraction, if the denominators are the same then we just add/subtract the numerators and keep the common denominator.
