Do you the method of finding roots using Newton's method?

If not - please do a google search with the keywords "Newton's method of finding roots o polynomials".

Please show us what you have tried and exactly where you are stuck.

You can solve the problem with simple algebra - but you have been retricted to Newton's method in this case.

[math] 404 = 400 + \dfrac{8d^2}{3*400} - \dfrac{32d^4}{5*400^3}[/math]. Now solve this using Newton's Method

BTW I am assuming that [math]l= L[/math]. You really should have stated that or not use both [math]l\ and\ L[/math]
