i am assuming this is an order of operations thing. i am trying to back into a number though and can't do it. the formula to get the payout is B2+(B1-B2)*B3
i was trying to back into it by individual steps: so i take $3,884
then $3,326 (which is 7,210-3,884)
$3,884 +$3,326= $7,210
if i take that and * 2.25 i get 16,223 and not the 11,367 i am supposed to

what am i doing wrong?
Column AColumn B
Commissioned Revenue$7,210
Commission Goal$3,884
Multiplier225%
Payout$11,367

[math] \text{First subtract:}\\ (7,210-3,884)=3,326\\ \text{Multiply by 2.25:}\\ 3,326*2.25 = 7,483.5\\ \text{Add 3,884:}\\ 7,483.5+3,884 = 11,367.50 [/math]

First expressions in parenthesis : t1 = b1 - b2 = 3326
Then multiplication : t2 = t1 * b3 = 3326 * 2.25 = 7483.5
Then addition : t3 = b2 + t2 = 3884 + 7483.5 = 11367.5
