This is the answer posted for the question attached in the image but I think both these statements are false..
1. angle 5 and angle 8 are alternate interior angles.
2. angle 5 and angle 11 are corresponding angles.
If they are true, can someone explain?

I agree with your conclusions- for the part (1) & (2). But I do not understand your "justifications".

You were right to think the answer for #1 is wrong. In fact, the problem itself is bad, since all three options are false, not just one. Don't trust this source.
