parallelogram problem: ABCD-parallelogram, AB is perpendicular to BD, the total perimeter equals 32 cm, BD=8 cm; find area

the problem goes like this: ABCD-parallelogram, AB is perpendicular to BD, the total perimeter equals 32 cm, BD=8 cm. I need to find the total area of the parallelogram. I halved the perimeter to find the perimeter of each triangle formed as shown in the image below. I then used a system of two equations to find AD : AB^2 + 64=AD^2 and AD+AB+8=16. Turns out that AD equals 0. Please help,

Your second equation ("
AD+AB+8=16") is wrong.... 🤷‍♂️
