Parallelogram Question

I was wondering if anyone would either like to solve this problem or at least try to explain how to do this. I have tried to learn about parallelograms for the past few days but I am struggling to understand and use them even if you refer some sources that could help me with this sort of question it would be much appreciated.

This is a standard theorem. Look in your textbook/lecture-notes for a theorem about the length of a line segment between two midpoints of a triangle and its third side.

You can draw additional segments to construct a parallelogram and then use related theorems and such to come up with a proof, but it seems like an overkill to me.
I would follow the suggestion in post #2 or use similar triangles.
