Patterns and points: drawing pentagonal numbers

I'm having some difficulty understanding this. On my worksheet it says "Draw the next two figures in this pattern of pentagonal numbers."
 
Surely you text material gives you examples of this.
What are pentagonal numbers? Your text must tell you that.
It must have examples.
Look at them.

We were not given a textbook yet. I just have a worksheet. I don't get what they are trying to tell me to do.

If I were you, I would go to your educational authority and complain in the strongest possible terms. That is totally irresponsible!
You have been cheated!
You deserve better treatment than that!

Complain to the authority: They have done you a disservice!

Since you are given that you are supposed to be working with "pentagonal numbers", a good start might be to look up the definition of this. Then apply the definition.
