Click to expand... Hi lacinicole, Ask the question this way: 59.3% of what number is 139? Replace the word 'of' with a multiplication sign of your choice. I'll use the dot. Replace ''what number' with the variable x Replace the word 'is' with an '=' sign. Convert 59.3% to a decimal by moving the decimal two places to the left. Do all this and you have your equation. \(\displaystyle .593 \cdot x = 139\)
