i typed the equation in wrong: its 4x-[3-5(5-x)]=10-(4x-9). i have worked this several times and still can not get it right.
also i am stuck on7x/3-5=3(3x-6)/4. what do you do with the denominator?

I'm not sure I understand your post. You're asking for help with an equation that you've posted incorrectly...? Are you asking for help editing something...? And on the second equation, what do you mean when you ask "what do you do with the denominator"? What do the instructions tell you to do with it?

Please reply with clarification, including all of the steps you have tried thus far. Thank you.

Eliz.

4x-[3-5(5-x)]=10-(4x-9)

4x - (3-25 +5x) =10-4x +9

4x - 3 +25 -5x = 1 - 4x

4x - 5x + 4x = 1 + 3 - 25

3x = - 21

x = -7

hope this helps

clarification

okay:
question # 1:
solve the equation
4x-[3-5(5-x)]=10-(4x-9)
i have worked this equation several times and still can not get the right answer.

question # 2
solve the equation
_7x__ -5= __3(3x-6)__
3 4

imagine that these are fractions and 3 is the den. for 7x and 4 is the den. for 3(3x-6). What are the steps to these problems?

7x/3-5=3(3x-6)/4

7x/(3-5) = 3(3x - 6) /4

Is this what you mean for this problem?

7x/3-5=3(3x-6)/4

(7x/3) -5 =3(3x-6)/4

((7x/3) -5) . 4 =9x-18

28x/3 - 20 = 9x -18

28x/3 = 9x -18 + 20

28x/3 = 9x +2

28x = (9x + 2).3

28x = 27x + 6

28x - 27x = 6
x=6

Hope this helps
