1. A variable, X, has a distribution B(40,0.2) . Use your calculator to calculate

a) P(X=10)
b) P(X bigger than or equal to 9)
c) P(X>8)
d) What do you notice about the above? Explain this.

2) A variable, X, has a distribution B(40,0.2). There are two hypotheses that are tested:
H0 : p = 0.4
H1 : p not equal to 0.4

a) Is this a one or two-tailed test?
b) What are the critical values at the 10% significance level?
c) What is the critical region at the 10% significance level?
d) What are the critical values at the 5% significance level?
e)What is the critical region at the 5% significance level?
