There are 5 problems. I need step by step how the problems are done with the answers.

1. Find the indicated function values:
f (x) = 3x 2 to the power + 4x -2

a. f (0) b. (f (3) c. (f (-4) d. f (b) e. f (5a)

2. Each function is defined by 2 equations. The equation in the first row gives the output for the for the negative numbers in the domain. The equation im the second row gives the output for the non-negative numbers in the domain. Find the indicated function numbers.
f (x) {6x - 1 if x < 0
{7x + 3 if x > 0 the > has a _ under it

a. f (-3) b. f (0) c. f (4) d. f (-100) + f (100)

3. For each pair of functions, f and g, determine the domain of f + g.
f (x) = 1 over x, g (x) = 2 over x-6

4. Find an equation of each line. Write the equation using function notation.
Through (-4, 8) ; perpendicular to 2x - 3y = 1

5. Use a graph to show the function:
f (x) find g (-4)

Thanks.

:!: Note: Legitimate tutors don't generally "do" students' work for them, and often don't give out the answers. If that's what you're looking for, then you might need to try a different sort of site. :!:

On the other hand, if you mean that you missed the lectures, your book and a friend's class notes aren't making sense, and you'd like lesson links so that you can learn, then we can help!

To learn how to "evaluate" a function (that is, how to plug numbers in for the variables), try here:

When the function is defined in "pieces", it's called a "piecewise" function.

I'm sorry, but I have no idea what this question means. Sorry!

Once you have studied some lessons (at least one from each link) and have learned the basic terms and techniques, please attempt the exercises. If you get stuck, please reply showing your work and reasoning so far. Thank you! :D
