Polygraph v liars

If 85% is polygraph success and 12 people from both defender and prosecution teams were asked the same relevant questions, what would the likely hood of the correct decision be? Given that money/ influence buys freedom and victims regularly remain victims , it would...without the data.. seem that a more seemless and consistant standard should be used...or is it that the political parties shy away from such direction?
 
Hey Greg. Are you thinking that these questions can be answered using mathematics?

Not that it matters in this thread, but I am curious to know which justice systems and political parties you're considering. Cheers!
