Pamela wants to know how much money she would have if her bank tripled her money every day for 30 days. she starts with 2$.

1=2$
2=6$
3=18$
4=54$

Calculate the amount on day 14. show me your formula.

What will be the formula for that? I am studying my Monday exam and I still not understand that problem. Can you help me please!

You need to develop your own formula. You can't memorize a formula for every possible situation.

Day 1 - 2
Day 2 - 6

Hmmm... If the number of the day is 'n', maybe the money on Day n is \(\displaystyle 2\cdot 3^{n}\)

Check it out. If that's not right, come up with your own conjecture and improve it.

Hi,

What you can do for these types of problems is to wright out whats happening

day 1 2=3^0(2)
day 2 3(2)=3^1(2)
day 3 3(3(2))=3^2(2)
day 4 3(3(3(2)))=3^3(2)

etc.

now use tkhunny's hint and you'll get it :)

Hope this helps!
