Ok..I'm getting confused looking at all these problems.
Question:

If two different problems say- 1.Find P(face card and not a heart)
2. Find P(HC U F)

Then aren't they the same problem just switched around? I got 0.173 for the first problem.

assuming HC means heart card and F means face card (why did you switch labels???)

I'm going to use H for heart and F for face

[MATH]F \cap \neg H \neq H \cup F[/MATH]
[MATH]P[F \cap \neg H] = \dfrac{9}{52}\\ P[F \cup H] = P[F]+P[H] - P[F \cap H] = \dfrac{12}{52}+\dfrac{13}{52} - \dfrac{3}{52} = \dfrac{22}{52}\\ \dfrac{9}{52} \neq \dfrac{22}{52}[/MATH]

Okay..I get it now. Thank you. I get confused between words like, or, and, but, only, and both.

Who can help me solve this topic right?
