In a plan for North American telephone numbers, each number is a sequence of 10 numbers of the form xyy xyy yyyy, where 2 ≤ x ≤ 9 and 0≤ y ≤9. How many different telephone numbers can be formed?

There are eight choices of x and ten choices for y.
Now multiply.
