Hi, I'm thinking of doing a math project on the chances of winning gambling games where luck plays a big role like blackjack, roulette, lottery tickets etc. What kind of math topics do I need to learn to be able to calculate the chances of winning such games?

You didn't mention your background. You need a college level algebra course which includes combinations, permutations, and counting techniques. Then take a probability course which addresses probability distributions and random variables. That will get you started.

Blackjack is not necessary a game of luck. You can change the odds depending on how you play. For example, you can lose every hand by hitting until you bust, thus losing 100% of the time. Or you can do what is called card counting and have a very small (very small!) edge against the house!
