A children’s game is played by constructing snakes from different head, body and tail parts.
There are 6 different colours for each part, each part having the same colour options.

a) If a snake consists of 1 of each part, how many different snakes may be made?
Answer: 6 x 6 x 6 = 216

b) How many of the snakes in (a) consist of different colours?
Answer: 6 x 5 x 4 = 120

c) How many of the snakes in (a) have a read head?
Answer: 1 x 6 x 6 = 36

d) How many of the snakes in (a) have the same head and tail colour, but a different coloured
body?
Answer: ?

e) Suppose a snake is to consist of a head, a tail and 2 body parts. How many different snakes
may be made?
Answer: 6 x 6 x 6 x 6 = 1296

I need clarifications on my answers and clues for (d).

for (d) pick a color, there are 6, this will be the head and tail color.
pick the different colored body. There are 5.

6 x 5 = 30
