This is my problem:
Suppose every night, there is 1 in 100 chance of a meteorite being seen. Let D be a random variable that is equal to number of days until the next meteorite is visible. What is the distribution for D? My answer is Geometric distribution, I am not so certain, looking for any suggestions.

Why - why not binomial distribution or Poisson's distribution?

Thank you for reply, what are parameters for this problem if use binomial distribution.

If D=1 day, what is that probability?
If D= 2 days, what is that probability?
If D= 3days, what is that probability?
....

What method are you using?

Yes, I think geometric distribution is not the solution, I am trying binomial, but I am still thinking what are the parameters can be used in binomial.
