problem: 3x^2 +9x-5=0
after simplfying i have x= -9 +/- sqrt 141 all divided by 6.
where do i go from here? can i go any further....

Your result is accurate. :)

It can also be written as follows by decomposing your ratio into two fractions and canceling common factors, but your form and the following form both represent the same answer.

x  =  32±1416\displaystyle x \;=\; -\frac{3}{2} \pm \frac{\sqrt{141}}{6}
