Sorry about that.

I tried sum up roots first then put the values from first equation by using -b/a then i tried to multiply the roots the write the values which come from first equation but i confused about 3x^2 I've never seen that before.

You need to solve for α and ß from the equation 3x2 + 2x - 3 = 0 ( ← Ax2 + Bx + C = 0)

so α + ß = - B/A = -2/3

α*ß = C/A = -1

Then

(α - ß)2 = (α + ß)2 - 4α*ß → α - ß = ? → α = ? & ß = ?

I didn't get the last part sorry. Do I have to find the roots ? I thought I needed to factorise the question to make it in (α + ß) and (αß) form ?

You can do that!

However, you were confused by the coefficient of x2 term (3) - that's why I showed you an alternate way.
