My teacher gave me a work sheet with the directions of" solve by factoring" and one of the problems is a binomial of x^2=64
now normally I would just find the square root of 64 but is there any way I could factor this equation?

Is this what you meant?
. . .
\(\displaystyle x^2=64\)
. . .
If so, then before you factor it out, there is something you have to do. You have to make the equation equal to zero. How do we do this? We subtract 64 from both sides.
. . .
\(\displaystyle x^2-64=0\)
. . .
See? That was simple. Now, see what you can do from here. If you still need help, let me know :)
