2x^2 + sqrt 5x -3=0

2x squared + square root of 5x - 3=0

This needs to be solved using the quadratic formula.

Help anyone??[/list]

Do you know the Quadratic Formula?

a = 2
b = sqrt(5)
c = -3

Where are you struggling? Is it the sqrt(5) and before you have seen only integers? No worries. A number is a number. Plug it in.

I think I covered that.

(frog)*x2 + (plastic)*x + (Kansas) = 0

a = frog
b = plastic
c = Kansas

x = [(-plastic) + sqrt(plastic<sup>2</sup> - 4*(frog)*(Kansas))]/(2*frog)
and
x = [(-plastic) - sqrt(plastic<sup>2</sup> - 4*(frog)*(Kansas))]/(2*frog)

It makes no difference what the values are. Just put them in the formula.
