You have a point of the line you want the equation for, namely (a, f(a)). Now you need another point or the slope of the line. The derivative of f(x) at x=a gives you the slope of the line. Find the slope and if you need help finding the equation of the line or in finding the slope come back, show your work and we'll help you some more.
