The first problem asks for graphs of the derivatives of functions whose graphs are given as "broken" straight lines. Do you know the connection between a derivative and the slope of a straight line? Can you find the slope of the various lines shown here.

The second problem asks for the derivative of \(\displaystyle x^2\) at x= 0 and the derivative of \(\displaystyle e^x\) at x= 1. The derivative of \(\displaystyle x^2\) is typically one of the first things you learn in a Calculus course and the derivative of \(\displaystyle e^x\) shortly after. Certainly you should be able to look in your text book?

problem 2
one method to find the equation of line needs two info:
1. a point (X0, Y0) the line pass through.
2. slope of the line m. in your case m is the derivative at the point (X0, Y0)
equation: (y - Y0)/(x - X0) = m
