I know this is probally easy but I cant figure it out.
a.)Explain why c and d are the x and y intercepts x/c + y/d = 1

b.) how are the x and y intercepts related to c and d in the line x/c +y/d=2

My Calc book doest have anything about either of these questions, and i cannot remember.

a) What do you plug in for x when you're looking for the y-intercept? (If you don't remember, then consider the graphical meaning of intercepts. When you're crossing an axis, what is the value of the other variable?) When you plug that in for x, what do you get for the value of y? Now consider the situation for the x-intercept.

b) Follow the reasoning from (a).
