I'm trying to rearrange the equation below to solve for the value of I. But I can't get it out of the second factor:

T = (W*L / 2*I) * (L-squared * I-squared * H-squared - 2 * I * H) quantity square rooted

(Sorry for the weird way of spelling it out. This !@#$%^&* yahooty won't let me use math symbols...)

I'm trying to solve for I in this tower guy tensioning formula thet uses the visual guy sag calculating method. The value of I represents the intercept distance below the guy attachment point on the tower and a visually observed point on the tower with a transit connected to the guy cable at the anchor to establish the guy starting angle and amount of sag resulting after tensioning, The guying distance to the tower, L, the height of the guy connection point, H, and the length and weight of the cable, contained in W, are known. T is the tension.

Denis, or FreeMathHelp,

THIS IS A FOLLOW UP.

Again I thank you for your help as shown in your reply, but if you
could continue to the final solution please? The original query of mine was
not for me but for a dear long time friend, Jim Hayes. He and I worked
on an Early Warning Defense Project over 50 years ago. We both are
members of a friendship group from our old original project days,
called White Alice in Alaska. I am retired but he loves being active.
Attached is a PDF file involving the work he is involved in. Please
note his address in reply to this query. jhhayes@q.com

Please note: I am unable to attach a file in PDF format that reflects the tower project
because the file is 57.6 kb which exceeds the normal upload of 19.5 kb.
Ted, advises perhaps I can send to your private address if I am not asking too much.

Here is his response to me: (Hello Vicktor, Denis does not receive your replies to these emails. Instead you'll need to go to the website and either respond publicly or send him a private message.

Assuming you mean this:
Code:
     WL
T = ---- * SQRT(L^2 I^2 H^2 - 2IH)
     2I
then:
2TI = WL SQRT(L^2 I^2 H^2 - 2IH)
Square both sides:
4 T^2 I^2 = W^2 L^2(L^2 I^2 H^2 - 2IH)
expand right side:
4 T^2 I^2 = W^2 L^4 I^2 H^2 - 2W^2 L^2 IH
divide by I:
4 T^2 I = W^2 L^4 I H^2 - 2W^2 L^2 H
put I terms together:
W^2 L^4 I H^2 - 4 T^2 I = 2W^2 L^2 H

I'll give you the satisfaction of wrappin' her up!
