I am stuck on the following.....I need to rearrange the following expression to solve for L:
X = (2Pi * R)/ Sqrt L(L+1)
I start with multiplying both sides by SQRT L(L+1) to get
SQRT L(L+1) * X = SQRT L(L+1) * [(2Pi * R) / SQRT L(L+1)]
and then after cancelling SQRT L(L+1) from the right hand side:
SQRT L(L+1) * X = (2Pi * R)
Next I divide both sides by x and get:
(SQRT L(L+1) * X)/X = (2Pi * R)/X
After cancelling X from the left hand side I get:
SQRT L(L+1) = (2Pi * R)/X
I remove the root from the left by squaring the right to get :
L(L+1) = [2Pi *R/X]^2
and now I am stuck.....Any help anyone can give would be appreciated.
