Hello
Given the total wall length and the floor area of an odd shaped room I would then like to have an equation that would tell me the room dimensions (width and length) if the room were to be simplified into a rectangular shape while retaining the same total wall length and floor area. I've tried combining the following two equations:
area = width x height
Total wall length = 2*width + 2*length
but it's a long time since I have done any maths so I can't work it out. I'm guessing this would be easy for someone more familiar with algebra?
