Triangles IJK and TUV are similar. The length of the sides of IJK are 203, 154 and 196. Then length of the longest side of TUV is 348. What is the perimeter of TUV?
I think I've figured this out but, I'm not sure. Anyone willing to check and see if I did this right?
I let p=perimeter.
First, I added up all of triangle IJK's sides.
203+154+196=553
so:
p/553
And, the two longest sides are 348 (TUV) AND 203 (IJK) so:
348/203
Then I set them equal to each other and cross multiplied.
p/553=348/203
203p=192444
Then solved for p....
p=192444/203
p=948
The perimeter of triangle TUV is 948 units.
