The problem is to simplify this expression
.......(x+1) .............................. x
_______________ divided by ____________
15xsquared + 3x ...................(10x + 2)

(2) will stand for squared and (3) will stand for cubed

This is what I have so far: (x+1)..........(10x +2)....... (x+1) (10x + 2).....2(5x +1)(x+1)
.............................___________ .__________ =________________ =_______________= ?
..............................15x(2) + 3x ........x............15x(3) + 3x(2).......15x(3)+3x(2)

It is multiple choice and the answers don't match up to any of these so I am doing something wrong.

Ok...you have

2(5x + 1)(x + 1)
------------------
15x[sup:buv68y5i]3[/sup:buv68y5i] + 3x[sup:buv68y5i]2[/sup:buv68y5i]

You factored the numerator...why didn't you factor the denominator? There's a common factor of 3x[sup:buv68y5i]2[/sup:buv68y5i]. Remove that common factor, and then see if the fraction can be reduced.

oops!
2(5x + 1)(x+1)
-----------------
3x(2) X (5x+1)
is it:

2(x +1)
-----------
3x(2)
