Your 1st one is: 1/4 (6b+2) - 2/3 (3b-2) That's same as: (6b + 2) / 4 - 2(3b - 2) / 3 = 2(3b + 1) / 4 - 2(3b - 2) / 3 ...take over: use gcd of 12...
