simplifying (1+cotθ)/(sinθ + cosθ)

The instructions say, "Express each of the following expressions in simplest form and in terms of only sin x or cos x. Show your work."
I've worked through it and have ended up with (sinθ + cosθ)/(sin2θ + (sinθ * cosθ)). What do I do next? I feel stuck.

The third expression, the one at the top, on the right, do something different from there. Don't use the distributive property in the denominator.
 
You might see it better if you put the numerator, in the top right expression, in brackets.
 
You should never distribute in problems like this because then you might not see common factors.
