Directions: write each expression in simplest form.

12a^2b/36ab^2
I got 3ab as the answer but I'm not sure if it's correct.
 
If I understand you correct you want to symplify this expression:

First we divide by 12, then bij a*b. We get: a / 3b.

Math_helper, it doesn't make sense to seek out a post that is almost nine years old. Also, that is not the correct way of writing the answer in horizontal style. You use grouping symbols around a more complicated denominator and/or numerator:

a/(3b)
