I am trying to learn math again after 13 years and am having trouble with for the function x=1/ (over) x-2 and I need to find the y values for x = -2,-1,0,1,2,3. Any ideas?

substitute each of the x values in for one number for example the problem is (1)/(x-2) substitute -2 in for x --> (1)/(-2-2)=-1/4 continue with -1 then 0 and so on... hopes this helps

You gave writing the function a very good try. Just use more parentheses and you'll have it.

x = 1/(x-2)

That's clear, but it doesn't make any sense if you are just trying to evaluate a function. Did you mean f(x) = 1/(x-2)?
