Solving the inequality

I find this so frustrating! Can anyone explain to me the step by step process for finding the answer to an inequality? One of the examples from class was x²-16>0 I'm not sure how to find this answer.

Can you construct a values table

where (x-4)(x+4)>0, observe how the sign of the product changes

x-4 and x+4 alike, have roots,(4 and -4)

-4 4
x-4
x+4
