Can you say "FOIL"?

Remember how to multiply numbers long-hand? EVERY element of one number must be paired with EVERY element of the other number. The very same thing applies, here. FOIL is just one possible order that is easy enough to memorize.

(2x + 6)(x -10)

First: 2x * x = 2x^2
Outer: 2x * (-10) = -20x
Inner: 6 * x = 6x
Last: 6 * (-10) = -60

Bring it all together:
2x^2 - 20x + 6x - 60

Simplify:
2x^2 - 14x - 60
