A pollster surveryed 250 students. 110 students indicated that they are registered Republicans, 47 of the 130 females indicated that they are registered Republicans.
Let A be the set of respondents that were female and let B be the set of respondents that are registered Republicans.

1. Use the information given and the Venn diagram below to determine the number of elements in each of the regions. List the number of elements in each region.

2. How many of the respondents were non-Republican males?

3. Can you determine the number of female Democrats from the information given? Explain.

Please share with us your work/thoughts - so that we where to begin to help you (I do not see a Venn diagram - was that part of the problem?).

It is unfortunate that Venn diagrams were not covered your book nor taught in your class. It is not reasonably feasible to attempt here to replace the missing hours of classroom instruction, so you will either need to hire a qualified local tutor who can teach the topics which your instructor skipped over, or else you will need to attempt self-study. If you would like to try to learn about Venn diagrams online, there are loads of great resources available:

. . . . .Google results for "introduction to Venn diagrams"

Please read at least two lessons from the link. Once you have learned the basic terms and techniques, please attempt the exercise. If you get stuck, you will then be able to reply with a clear listing of your work and reasoning so far.

Thank you! :D
