Hey guys hope you all doing very well. Im currently revising the cent. Lim. Theo. And i have this equation
Z=[ x-u] / [ sigma/ sqrt n]

x : sample mean
u: population mean
Sigma: population std dev
N : nbr of samples

i want to know if the denominator is the std dev of the sample or if not what is it ?

Thank you alot

How could it be anything else? [math]\sqrt{n}[/math] is rather a clear indication.

You DO have to be careful with Small Populations. Look up "Finite Population Correction Factor". Without that, you can mandate samples greater than the entre population. That's obviously no good.

P.S. Thank you for thanking. When we get enough information and we can answer the question directly and specifically, we might even smile. That's why we're here! :)
