Write the statement in symbolic form.
Let
P: The chili is spicy
Q: The sour cream is cold
It is false that if the sour cream is not cold than the chili is spicy.

What are your thoughts? What variables have you picked, and how have you defined them? How far have you gotten? Where are you stuck?

Please be complete. Thank you! ;)

???

Hi, thank you for all of the help! Truthfully I don't have any idea of where to start.... can you explain how to do this??

Thank you,

Monique

I probably could "explain" how to do this, but I certainly couldn't provide that explanation within a simple forum posting!

To learn about logical statements, rules of logic, proofs, etc, please consider enrolling in a "proofs" or "deductive logic" course at your local college or university. With luck, the course you take will provide the teaching you have requested inside the first two or three weeks. Otherwise, you may want to consider hiring a qualified local tutor who can furnish you with the private instruction you seek.

Good luck, and have fun with it! ;)
