I did a poll of 20 women and 20 men on if they drank diet or regular sodas. Thirteen womea drank diet soda and seven drank regular soda. Nine men drank diet soda and thirteen drank regular soda.

How would I find the mean? There are no numerical values.

9 + 13 = 22 &8800; 20

You probably don't find a mean. Perhaps a proportion is what you seek.
