Straight-line graph and linear equations questions

(1) Can someone give me at least an example of a real-life situation where a straight-line graph might be applicable and explain to me why it might be true.

(2) Then another real-life situation that follows a linear equation, with the independent variable being years. Also what would the slope say about future years?


(3) Last but not least, what if an equation had three varibales? how are they similar to the equations that have two and one variable. Also , how are they different the one with three variables .

1) Sure

voltage = resistance * current.

if you set voltage equal to 1, then you have a linear equation that gives you the coresponding currents to any resistance or vice-versa.

I don't understand what you mean about why its true.

2) 8 people are eaten by alligators each year

hay many people will be eaten in 10 years?

8*10=80 people
