Stuck on: 'Consider f(x) = x ln X; find range, intercepts,

Consider the function g(x)=x ln X

a) Determine the domain of g(x)

b) Find the x- and y-intercepts

c) Compute g'(x) and use it to find any critical points

d) Compute g''(x)

All I have is g'(x) = 1 + lnx, and I'm not sure if that's correct.

a) Finding domains was covered back in algebra. Think about the domain of any log function.

b) Finding intercepts was covered back in algebra. Just do the plug-n-chug. To find any intercept, plug "0" in for the other variable, and solve.

c) Has your class covered the Product Rule yet? Has it covered the derivative of the natural log function?

d) The second derivative is just the first derivative of the first derivative. So differentiate g'(x).
