1. What kind of triangle is the Bermuda Triangle? (Classify it as right, isosceles, scalene, etc.) [Your work will be assessed for Application.]
2. When navigators are indicating direction, they generally use the format N 50º E (head 50º East of due North, as shown). If a ship is leaving the island of Skwaera , what range of angle headings should they avoid in order to stay out of the triangle? [Your work will be assessed for Inquiry, Application and Communication.]

3. What area of water does the Bermuda triangle cover? Why would you want to know that? [Your work will be assessed for Inquiry, Application, and Communication.]
4. Verify your answer to Question 3 using a completely different method. [Your work will be assessed for Knowledge and Application]
5. Bill has unwittingly found himself inside the triangle at coordinates (3, 5). What is the shortest distance he needs to travel to get out of the triangle? (You may want to consider three possibilities) Which direction should he head to get out of the triangle the fastest? Your answer can be in the form of an equation of a line or even a direction angle (like N 30º E). [Your work will be assessed for Knowledge, Application and Communication.]
6. You decide to put a distress beacon on a buoy inside the triangle that is equidistant from all 3 vertices of the triangle to warn incoming ships. Your assistant has calculated (2, 3) as the appropriate point. Verify whether or not this is the correct point to place the beacon. Why would you want the beacon to be equidistant from all three vertices? [Your work will be assessed for Application and Communication.]
7. You’ve located Polly! She was carried out to sea on a small boat and was picked up by a rescue plane at coordinates (8, 5). If the plane is going to fly straight to Skwaera, will it cross over the triangle? If so, for how long will they be over the waters of the triangle? (Note: the plane flies at 200 km/h.) [Your work will be assessed for Inquiry, Application and Communication.]
