I thought that was an axiom.

The Transitive Property of Equality is an axiom....assumed to be true without proof.

What does it mean to say that two segments are congruent? Or that two angles are congruent? It means that their lengths or measures are equal.

So...

Use the definition of congruent to show that the measures of the respective segments or angles are equal, and then apply the Transitive Property of Equality.
