The question has to do with drawing an image on a line graph after a specified reflection. we understand translation and reflection of ploygons. But we have a question that says "Reflect in the line x=2." there is a line graph with a right triangle with coordinates A (-4,0), B (-4,5) and C (0,0). Help?! thanks.

Hello, jenjordan1!

Did you make a sketch?

\(\displaystyle \text{Right triangle with vertices: }\,A(-4,0),\; B(-4,5),\; C(0,0).}\;\;\text{Reflect in the line }x=2\)
Code:
                |
        B | : B'
        o | : o
                | :
                | :
                | :
    - - o - - - o - + - o - - - o - - -
        A C 2 C' A'

A is 6 units to the left of the axis (x=2).\displaystyle A\text{ is 6 units to the left of the axis }(x = 2).

. . A will be 6 units to the right of the axis: A(8,0)\displaystyle A'\text{ will be 6 units to the }right\text{ of the axis: }\:A'(8,0)

And so on . . .
