The area of an isosceles trapezoid is 326 inches squared It's height is 9 inches and the length of its shorter base is 16 inches. find the length of its legs to the nearest tenth.

I thought everyone knew the area of a trapazoid is
(1/2) the height times the sum of the bases.
After that you work with a right triangle.

Trapezoids

She gave us the answer but told us to work it to find the answer. Ive worked it a thousand times and i still am not getting the answer she told us on our study giude. We have a huge test tomorrow and i dont know how to do it. Could you work it and see what you get for the answer?

Hmmm, you could have shown what you tried at least one of the thousand times.
326=(1/2)9(16+x)
The length of the leg is
sqrt(((x-16)/2)²+9²)
I get 22.1 for the leg.
