I cant figure out how to do these.

1. 2sin(x)cos(x)-cos(x)=0

2.4cos^2(x)-1=0 (^2 means squared)

3. 2sin^2(x)+ 3sinx= -1

4. sec^2(x)+6tan(x)+4=0

5. cot^2(x)/csc(x)-1=1+sin(x)/sin(x)

I would really appreciate it if you could help. Thanks
 
1) This is factorable. So factor, and set each factor equal to zero. Solve the two resulting trig equations.

2) This is a difference of squares. Factor, and proceed as above.

3) Add the -1 over to the left-hand side, and apply the Quadratic Formula (or whatever other method you like) to solve the equation for "sin(x) =". Then solve the two trig equations.

4) Note that sec<sup>2</sup>(x) = 1 + tan<sup>2</sup>(x), and convert this to a quadratic in tangent. Then solve as in (3).

5) I'm not sure what you mean here. Please reply using grouping symbols for clarification.
