Ive got a problem here that im trying to figure out using trigonometry. So far, ive only encountered frustration with this. I have a trigonometry test tomorrow so help would be very appreciated.

I know I have to use the sin, cos, tan things, but im not sure how to apply them in this situation.

Thank you. :D

heres the question.

Hello, MrHeadphones!

You don't need trig . . .

You have two similar right triangles.

The large one has base \(\displaystyle P\) (for "pond") and height 56.

The small one has base 40 and height 32.

So we have: \(\displaystyle \L\:\frac{P}{56}\,=\,\frac{40}{32}\)

You can finish it now . . .

I can't believe i didnt see that!!! Thank you very much, that one was bothering me.

Wish me luck on the test tomorrow!
